Mission Objectives

Primary Mission:
Our main mission, as for everyone else, is to measure air temperature and pressure with the CanSat and send the data to the ground-based station.

Secondary Mission:
Our secondary mission is to measure the gravitation constant of a target (here, the Earth) with an accelerometer.

Landing system
Landing system

The landing system is four legs deployed if the can falls for 3 seconds. There are two motors conneted into the mecanical part to move the legs. Unfortunately, at the launch time the system failed to deploy its legs because the battery didn't have enough power to deploy those. The video below shows how the landing system works.

Landing system video

This is the landing system test.

Parachute
Parachute

The parachute was made to support the SwissMeteo drone, everything was calculated for the can. It had to fall at a speed of 5 meters per second minimum. Our can fell at a speed of 6 meters per second.

Can design
Can design

Here is a blueprint of our can before the production. We planned to land horizontally because the can is more stable when it hits the ground. It's also why there are 4 legs for our landing system.

Can before the launch
Can before the launch

Here is a preview of our can before the launch. We had time to fix our software, which was supposed to take all the data automatically. We also added a blue plastic to protect all the electrical components.

Glue gun
Glue gun

We used Glue Gun to help with reinforcing the can and keep it in good shape, which helped us a lot with the can launch. And thanks to Marco for his skills with the glue gun.
